n8n AI Agent with Firecrawl

In this project, I demonstrate how to build a powerful no-code AI agent using Firecrawl’s new /search endpoint. This agent can search the entire web, scrape content, and even take full-page screenshots—all without writing a single line of code.

Project Objective

The goal is to create a fully automated system that can perform real-time web searches, filter content, scrape pages in multiple formats, and capture screenshots. This AI-powered agent is ideal for research, data aggregation, and modern automation workflows.

Steps Involved:

Search Automation with Firecrawl:

• Used the /search endpoint to query the web with custom keywords and advanced filters.
• Configured included/excluded domains and set date ranges to refine search results.

Content Scraping:

• Scraped content from selected URLs returned from the search query.
• Supported formats included Markdown, HTML, and JSON depending on the use case.

Screenshot Capture:

• Captured full-page screenshots of relevant pages automatically using Firecrawl’s screenshot capability.

Workflow Integration:

• Integrated the search-scrape-screenshot pipeline into a no-code automation tool like n8n or Zapier.
• Automated the process to run on demand or at scheduled intervals.

Example Workflow:

Let’s say you want to track news articles about "AI policy" published this week, excluding Reddit and Twitter. The Firecrawl agent searches for relevant content, scrapes the articles in Markdown for readability, and stores them in Notion or Google Docs—while capturing a screenshot of the source page for context.
